where the best place to get a price for some standard tyres for my gf

not Kwik Fit anyway - I got charged well over 70 quid a tyre for 185/60/15s on the megane from them (Dunlops). But got the same type of tyres a month later from a local place for 20 quid a piece less!

cheapest place there is i would say and they find a place local to you and fit them for about £5.
