Think of it this way, if you change the wheels and suspension and don't tell them, your insurance is invalid as you're essentially driving a different car.

Just tell them, it's not worth it if you have a prang and get found out. Especially if Police are involved, cos that's 7 points on your licence for driving without insurance too...

Especially as it will cost about £50-£100 more to declare. No point in risking it.

Yes, it would invalidate the insurance if you don't declare your mods. A lot of people drive without declaring their mods to the insurer and have to live with the risk of crashing and the company not paying out.

You may think, Yeah, i'll take that risk. But if you think like that then why bother getting insured in the first place! I was insured for the first year without declaring my mods, and it was always something I was worried about when driving the car. This year I have declared the mods, and it didn't cost much extra and the company was pretty sound about it. Better peace of mind too.

When shopping around for insurance make sure you ask if the company covers mods. I was with Churchill who don't cover the mods (Even though I asked). Asda, who I'm with this year cover mods.

Hope that helps!

I seem to remember Liverpool Victoria allow mods that don't affect engine performance for little or no extra cost.
