ive just been charged £90 to put in a new handbrake cable sounds pricey to me does anyone know if thats about right or not.

do it yourself pal, me and my Dad changed the long cable from the handle to the rear passenger wheel in around 1 hour and for about £10 - £15 IIRC!

That sounds alot, cables are probably about £30, probably about £20 labour then plus VAT, so i'd say roughly should have been around £60ish

£13 for the cable alone.

If its both pieces its around £30 for the two, £12 and £15 iirc and a couple of quid for a new adjuster nut if the old one is seized on.

cheers guys i thought it sounded pricey ill have a word with the garage would usually try to do it myself just dont have the time at the moment

mine cost £75 for both wires to get fitted
