Just curious to see if it would be worth a remap after a new exhaust system etc ??? if so would i see any improvements in Bhp???

you can, but remaps only have really good results on turbo'd cars, spesh the 1.8T VAG lump.
You'll probably get around 15-20 brake, depending where you take it. £350- £450

vw didnt make a 2.0 16v in mk4.they did 8v and 1.8 20v

nah about 5 and n/a cars will not respond to chip/remaps unless they have mods to take advantage of it such as higher duration cams

no such thing as a 2.0 16v mk 4 golf. here are the engines that came out in the mk4

1.4 16v
1.6 16v
2.0 8v Gti 115bhp
1.8 20v NA Gti 125bhp
20vt Gti 150bhp

v6 four motion
r32 3.2
TDi and Gt tdi or sdi

the 2.0 16v was only fitted in the passat... NEVER in the mk 4 golf.. in the mk3 & 5 yes.

oh, and id start saving for some piston rings... most of the 2.0s use a shit load of oil because the rings go after about 45000 miles..

thats bull shit my 2.0 had 95k on an M and was as strong as ever. my mates have the same with 120k and are in better condition than mine
