i created a thread the other day regarding FK Highsports to see what peoples opinions of them were. I got 2 replies so thought Id see if there was anything else on the forum about them
There seems to be a lot of mixed views about the highsports and a lot of people saying that Koni yellows are the way to go.
Can some people tell me what suspension they would recommend to use. Im wanting the ride height to be easily adjustable, all round good use, not too much trouble with corrosion and wearing.
What would you suggest?

ive looked about and decided on FK Highsports. All the sites say they are easily adjustable, only problem is they dont say how you actually go about changing it! Is it a case of take the wheel off and adjust or can you do it from under the bonnet?

should ba able to adjust them just from takign the wheels off mate
good coilovers
iv sold countless sets to VW guys and you know what theyre like for having good quality parts

didnt really want to take the wheels off tbh, too much assing around. would of rather lifted the bonnet, adjust from there and then be done with it

highsports corode quite badly and are a pain to adjust when on the car...
the fronts are simple but the rears have so much compresion on the that you can turn the adjuster rings while there on the car...
koni yellows are not hight adjustable..

youll never get a height adjustable from the top mate, never gonna happpen, the springs plates that need adjusted are under the arch
sure your not thinking of the dampin rate which is adjusted on the top of some coilovers??

siberia what suspension would you recommend then? its just that if i go to a show and slam it to the floor how am i going to raise it in order to take off the wheel coz of my skirts

drive up onto a piece of wood... it will raise the car enough to get a jack under it

looks like thatll be what ill have to do then, i cant afford the costs of having air suspension :/
is there any other make/model that you guys would suggest as a better choice of suspension, FK Siliverlines maybe?

silverlines will resist the corrosin better
but to be honest still coat the threads in coppe grease or similar to help protect them

ive just been on the venom website to have a look cause i heard theyre good for price. £400 for a set of silverlines (price includes tax and delivery) thats pretty good im guessing?
only thing is that i read somewhere that theyre made from stainless steal but the sites says highly polished zinc

all i'll say is that when you get to these shows its not going to be as easy as you think... just to drop the car down... if you get coilovers...

as i said above... the rear platforms are just under to much compression so it neigh on impossible to turn the adjuster rings... so wheels off shocks off platfroms out and then you can turns them...
the fronts are a bit easyer... but still a pain in the hole..
^^^ thats speaking of fk highsports... other manufactures may be easyer..

I have FK coilovers..
I now have FK silverline plus coilovers..
Did have FK highsports..
No differance.. just my new ones are stainless steel and look nicer

my mate had a pretty good idea and it seems to be working.
hes got fk silverlines on his corsa, and has somehow attached a felxible plastic tubin around the it and used a tie wrap to hold it in place. he can easily take it off when he wants to adjust and its been preventing the wear and tear from the weather

i am also away to buy fk highsports in the next couple of weeks.
i was told just to put copper grease on them and that should prevent them from rusting.

Ive got the highsports, I only get them so I could set the height at first to what i wanted. Im not going to change it now but i would still grease them.
You can do it with the wheels still on the car.

On mine you can get your hand and the tools in between the gap of the wheel and the arch. Only just though.
