I'm on my placement year at the moment and i'm doing .Net web development.

My job here ends in June and Id quite like to pick up a contract somewhere like central london for about 3 months to earn some extra cash.

I think im going to be going through an umbrella company but was wondering if anyone could me any advice?

Cheers

I used to work in IT recruitment for contractors.

The market is massive and the rates very good at the moment but you have to be flexible on location.

If you have the right skills that are in demand you can be very sought after and will loads of calls about jobs both direct and through agencies. However if you have skills that are less in demand you are probably better off going permanent as you could see youself out of work for a while.

Loads of people love the lifestyle, you can earn a lot and take a months break before starting again and youll be able to afford it if you are good.

Youll have to set up your own Limited company or go through an umbrella company I beleive. Although Im not an expert about that side of things.
