I admit, I used it, the first thing I did IIRC to the car... If you take your time, do it properly, it doesn't look too bad. And it hasn't peeled off in the 4 years or so it's been there.
There have been plenty of people thought it was the real deal too.

if you lay over a sheet, and heat it gently for a good while, you get a similar effect to vacuum forming, and the film will take the shape of the part. Just tuck the ends back round so it doesn't peel off...

Hairdryer
Knife (usually supplied)
Piece of plastic to smooth out any bubbles (usually supplied)
Screwdrivers to remove parts of trim. Easy.

At the end of the day, if you're doing it just for looks, theres not much point forking out hundreds if you can do it so it looks like the proper job.

no, no sanding. You just cut crosses into the film above the holes, heat it, and then fold the excess round the back.

Can i just make a suggestion, every post you seem to say you have no money. Well just an idea but why dont you stop spending money on little bits and then you will get some money together to buy bigger and better bits, for example plain grill or something?

Ive got a carbon effect console panel on me Corsa - the Irmscher one. Its plastic designed to look like Carbon, but apart from having a smooth glossy texture instead of rippled, its top notch.
And Im selling my Corsa so can sell seperately if needs be.
