I had et40 17" rims on my Corsa and it was ok. Did tend to tramline a bit but not too much. The thing i noticed was the reducion in speed and the handling wasnt as sharp as it was on 15" rims. And it scrubbed like a bad un too.

The tramlining is more down to the 17's

personally i'd go down to 15s as I had some 15s before my 17s and am going back, but 16s are supposed to be a good size on the corsa,

It's like for example if you're in the slow lane of a motorway and rather than you driving the car, the car drives in the grooves made by lorries etc and you have to correct the steering more than usual - that's tramlining...

Also re. offset, I had ET42 6.5x15 wheels on my old Corsa, with 195/50/15 tyres the rears scrubbed with load, but with 195/45/15 tyres they were fine.

I've got some ET49 wheels with 10 or 11mm spacers on, so effectivy around ET39, seems ok to handle, didn't notice too much difference before and after I put the spacers on.

well i loved the look of the 17's just not the ride or handling.

15's look cack but give a much better ride and superior handling (maybe cause they have slightly better tyres)

16's look bigger but can still have a 45 profile would they still scrub on the rears with a 195 tyre
