For a 1st car, I wouldn't go for anything above 1.4
Get it, if you can get insured.

what he said.
It's a matter of who will insure you and if you can afford/are willing to pay the insurance.

I would get a cheaper to insure car and insure it you name. At least then you will be getting a no claims bonus (you'd hope) which will enable you to get a better car the following year. Thats what I did.

i would of been happy with one as my first car, had a 1.3 nova for 3yrs, then a 1.4 corsa for 4.5yrs i so need a new car
group 6 insurance shouldn't be too bad, £1000-£1500 i would guess

not if ur the main driver on the car its expensive was going to insure my gf on a saxo 1.4 on her own as a learner came in at 2000 after she passes it will be 1100
its cheap if i add her to my policy on a car tho

my nephew has a 1.4 corsa breeze and is only paying about 100 more than he would on a 1.0
i would get a 1.4 but maybe not the sport as there still low insurance groups so are cheaper too insure

A thing i found is to put ya dad/mam on as second driver, it tends to knock it down a bit, it did wiv admiral and bell (part of admiral) and thats on a 1.8sri, cost me 1700 wiv 1yr no claim.
