they could have problems as if people knock there cars when out and about they could blame it on autopark

not sure how it works, and how much control you are actually in? i.e does it move at the correct speed itself?
If so there maybe safety issues with that.. someone steps out/falls out behind you.

Im guessing it uses a similar thing to reverse parking sensors, so will control direction and speed itself, and would stop if anyhting stepped out. Wouldnt mind bettering its overridden easily if you stamp on the brake.

yeah.. im sure it uses the sensor's as shown in the video clip to work out angles speeds etc...

and as bart says im pretty sure they would have thought about the people or other objects getting in the way

well they would have to change the design of the current sensors, as they are currently 'spot' sensor,s and do not have a wide bandwith of area.
If i stand inbetween the sensors at home its not picked up.
