Got a kd-sc601 headunit (flames) and bizarre as it sounds I've lost the volume control, and I dont know how or where it is. Looking at the unit it just clips in easily (and out) but do you think I can get JVC to supply this very small bit of metal? NO

All started well when after an email JVC offered to repair the unit, but I had to do it through the retailer that sold it to me. I've gone back to the retailer (just out of warranty) and halfords tell me they dont deal with JVC all their stock comes from other sources to help keep prices cheap *cough* anyway email JVC and they say "go to a dealer who will order the part for you". Go to dealer "NO cant just get parts but can get you a new unit" like I want to buy another one. Jvc customer support line gave several repair centre numbers most of which dont do car audio and the last place said they can send it off if I pay. It's not like it needs much of a repair, just a shiny bit of metal popped into place *sigh*

Help anyone?

halfords can order JVC parts because i've ordered countless cables, surrounds, cages and that. Not sure if it's cos its such a small part, which is why your having such a problem getting hold of one. Try them again, or another store or try FixMyRadio

I'll get on to the drugged up bunch of Monkeys now. How embarising I know people that work at Halfords and its still a battle to get a good service. Too busy smoking joints out the back

its cos they will have to ring JVC to get a part number and price, an then they will have to calculate the retail price. They sound a bit like me !!! I hated ringing suppliers !!
