why do women believe they have to partake and instigate 'mind games' when you first start to date and get to know each other? im flat out at work at the moment, just started college and also getting over bad illness and fractured ankle, yet they still play these little mind games that make no sense at all. all the, "im going to be awkward and wait for you to ask me out" kinda thing. why cant people just get on with things, lifes too short to be playing stoopid games

Early phase of a relationship she might feel like if she lets you in too quick that she's worth less. At least if you worked, and she can see that you are really trying she can think that she is worth doing all that for.

Subconciously for her its related to the same aspect of attraction that makes women only pick men who are physically suitable and healthy, so that their offspring will be.

Plus she feels less of a tart.
