can someone please explain to me how betting ods work, for example what if i was to place a £5 stake on a 10/11 bet? and what if the number are the other way around? how does it work?
iv'e tried looking around google but cant really find anything..

10/11 is for every £11 you put on you get £10 back, these are really short odds (not a very good return)
5/1 would be for every £1 you put on you get £5 back.
Dont forget you also get however much you put on back aswell.

you have to put £11 on to win £10
and you would get your £11 back
so if you were to put £5 you would win about £4 plus your £5 back

the higher the first number is the better the odds (higher possible winnings) but it also means their is less chance of this happening.

A) My scuttle panel back
B) Payment for a scuttle panel

if the odds are 10/11 and your stake is £10 then:
£10 * 10 / 11 = £9.09 Winnings plus original stake returned.
If it was 5/1 then:
£10 * 5 / 1 = £50 Winnings plus your original stake returned
The / stands for 'divided by' and * for 'times by' for the thick amongst u

Stick all your odds in there and it will work out accumulators etc for you. You can also choose between decimal or fractions for how the odds are displayed.
