Went outside my office with a work colleague so he could have a fag and I could just have a minute

and one of the directors was there. He drives a Merc and he was asking is the astra my car, I said yeah. He never said its nice etc or ask questions about it, just saying why I pay so much for a Vauxhall, and he was really offensive about the whole thing!!!

He said it’s like buying a council house and decorating it with gold inside, it doesn’t work.

I replied saying

a) I don’t have as much money as u, plus if I did I wouldn’t buy a Merc.

he didn’t like that.

b) I said I bet I could beat u on the road anyday between the GSi and Merc. (he disagreed) so I replied saying bet u drive like a granny in that

End of the day it was a bit of fun arguing with him, but I hate it when people with loads of money look down on ya if u don’t drive a Merc, BMW, etc.

BTW it wasn’t a director of my company so wouldn’t get in shit (well I hope not

)

he has a lexus is
i dunno if a 2.0 corsa would kill one but i said it would and pissed him off anyway

Alot of people buy BMs and Mercs for the badge.

For instance why would you buy a 316 or 318 BMW or a 1.8 Merc?

The thing is I get this all the time at both the work places I work at...I mean a good mat of mine got a Audi A3 1.6 and he think he has reallly gone up in the world. He always reffers to my car as a comedy car...

The thing is you just have to remeber people have different tastes and look for different things in car.

Prime example of this is my mate swapped his IS200 Lexus for his brother's 350 z, at first he liked it said it was quick etc but then missed the comfort and auto box in his Lexus so now they are swapping back...Personally after driving the 350z I am in love with it

Different things please different people at the end of the day...

Lots of people prefer the stautus.
Lexus, Bmw, Merc, personally i prefer a drivers cars

Mercedes SLR, BMW m3/m5, are the only ones i would want as the others are really just a badge.

Just ignore it and laugh at them, I have mates that have 318 convertible BMW's they think its the tits, they then realise my clio/corsa is worht more and faster and they tend to shut up

One of my uncles mate is snobby, he drive a top of the range alfa.
He was slating my uncles Mini Cooper S when he bought it, but my uncles had the last laugh as thats for my auntie and he has a Porsche Caymen S on order at Park Lane
