Today was just one of those days....
1. Got a car parking ticket by uni for having my car half on the pavement as it was causing an "unnecessary obstruction"...bear in mind the road was very small so I thought I would make sure I didnt take half the road up when parking...and in no way was I blocking anything at all...you could park in the road fine there was no yellow lines etc...about 20 cars in the road done the same and all got tickets...issued by the Merseyside police too...cunts...£30 ticket...
then...
2. Two mins after getting that ticket ^^^ I pull out of the road...100 yards driving and get stopped by the police for driving with no seatbelt on...talks bollocks to me for about ten mins...there you go another £30 fine...thanks for coming...
3. Continue on my way home...pull up outside my apartment and hear a strange noise from the engine...get the bonnet up...one of the belts had snapped...£20 from motorfactors and £20 fitted...
All in a 15 min drive cost me a grand total of £100...thanks to the cock sucking gobshite of a police force...and a belt going...
To say im fuming is an understatement...I should have stayed in bed today...

Get ready for the should have had your seatbelt on speech, but £30 later i'm sure you've already realised this.

I was'nt lecturing BTW, it does'nt really bother me. Unless i happened to see you this afternoon and you mugged me for £30 to pay the fine, then it would have affected me!

Belt needed replacing anyway, at least it didn't leave you stranded.
Fines are harsh though. I'm currently appealing against a parking one as there was no line where I was parked, and the lines were wrong anyway further up the road.
It'll well pass the £30 payment period, then they'll deny me and I'll have to pay £60 for attempting to have them work inside the law. This one is council issue which means you can't even complain properly.

By lodging your complaint within the £30 28 days period Ian that is you effectively making contact...therefore should you lose the appeal you still would only pay the £30...
In theory...

You would have thought so, but the appeals process documents actually say that if the 14 days pass it goes up, and that the 14 days usually will pass.
They may as well write 'we leave them on the desk for a bit just to cost you more'.

Sounds like you might have been blocking the path then?
If someone in a wheelchair or someone pushing kids in a pushchair has to go in the road because of your parking then you're gonna get a ticket. (i know you tried and were doing what you thought was best but it's a shitty one that you often cannot win )
Best off finding somewhere else to park

The kerb was a very wide kerb....of some 6-8ft in width...my wheel was literally placed on the edge...so taking a wheels width up at most which is hardly an "unnecessary obstruction"...
