I'd quite like to get a bike ready for the summer. I dont want anything amazing, just a hardtail that is going to last well.

Didnt want to spend much more than £300. Any ideas?

A tip:
go to the seized property auction of your local police station. A mate got his from there for cheap and it was worth so much more.

GT are good.

Well I used to be into downhilling and dirt jumping back in the day.

But these days I just want it for a bit of exercise, but I will still take it offroad for a bit of thrashing about.

I was looking at this

that would take a bit of a beating, i'm sure GT were bought out a couple of years since, anyone know if the quality has suffered?
i've got a diamond back jump bike back at home it's a shame theres nowhere to keep it at uni, would get nicked or stripped outside!

the only thing about those chucker bikes is that although they look pretty solid, they dont look very comfortable to ride day to day....
