Ive only just found out about this:

What is Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA)?

EMA is a weekly payment of £10, £20 or £30 a week depending on your household income. The money is intended to help with the day-to-day costs when you stay on at school or college – such as travel, books and equipment for your course.

It is paid directly into your bank account if you stay on in education at school or college after your GCSEs, and is available during term time for any academic or vocational course (up to level 3) which involves at least 12 hours of guided learning per week.

Sounds like easy money

depending on your parents income, determains how much you get. loads of people in my 6th form were getting it. one boy who's family is rich enough, his dad dealt in cash for a year and didnt put half the money through his books just so his son could get EMA cunt, that really pissed me off. there i am, entitled to EMA, but didnt take it.

This really pisses me off. this is the same for student loan and fees. Just cos my mum and dad work and get gd money i suffer for it. i work 25hrs a week and go to uni and i only get the basic loan, i dont ask my parents for anythink and i pay reant and drive to uni everyday. this means i have to pay student fees and other stuff even tho my parents dont pay for it at all i do. i understand if they are single parents or cant work for reasons, but not when people cant be bothered to get a job is just plan lazy.

i have to have 2 jobs and work so much because otherwise i wouldnt be able to live, not even run a car. i pay my taxes for wot, people u are lazy to not work where's the justice

rant over

fuck this EMA stuff. i was entitled but i didnt take it. Just to be persuded to go to school, no point, i went to 6th form cos i wanted to go, and i wanted to do well, i motivated my self, and i come out of it with the best grades i could get, i dont think £30 a week would change my B in business to an A. its bollocks, all the people bragging at the end of the month when they got their money, wow you're really fucking important.
