It's first time I've watched deal or no deal from the start...
The process they use to pick people is so easily fixed, a computer which is 'randomly' going through names and stops on someone... So so easy to just press a button and make it show the name you want to show.
The reason to do this? So that the people with big prizes like £250,000 in their box never get chosen to play. Obviously if you have £250,000 in your box - it'll never disapear and the dealer will always have to make you generous offers.
Even if you don't have the bottle for the 250k - you'd still end up with a fair amount!
Boo - Hiss...

Yes... but the program makers can decide whether or not they want to let someone take the £250,000 etc...
i.e. they must have a set budget they can pay out set by their producers.
Thing is - if you start on 1p in your box your gonna get f*cked over, the only salvation you have is that just before the end you still have like 250,000 and 1p left... even then it's not gonna be an amazing offer and in that situation you'd blatently take 1p.
If you have 250,000 in your box from the start - you will guarenteed walk away with a lot of money, or if really lucky 250,000.
The producers by just chosing who they want (based on what they have in their box) at the start, can basically rig how the game will play out.
Yes it's the persons choice as they open the boxes, but if you have a shit box at the start your screwed.

Well if I was a program producer, and I had to ensure our funders that we would not be paying out millions a week I'd want a back up plan lol.
Why not have a better way of selecting people... Spin the bottle

The design of the game favours the banker, he'd rather give away 100k than 250k, it depends how many call the phone in comps etc...... if they don't give much money away that week either on the floor or over the phone comps then they can afford to make a few people gamble in certain situations.
