pallet delivery be about £80 cheaper than petrol

an engine? yes. should get away with a quarter pallet - same size just less weight

get it delivered for all it will cost. going to get it means petrol hassle and a days lost wages getting it delivered means hassle free there the next day
try palletforce or online pallet i used one of them i am sure. just phone them up and get a quote

yeh am really tempted to pallet it. Could pick it up on a weekend. if i pallet it, does the guy need to get it on a pallet and tie it on etc? r ther guidelines?

Engine needs to be securely fastened in the confines of the pallet and have no fluids in it

go on http://www.palletforce.co.uk and find the depot nearest to him, ring them up, giving his address, and they will pick it up from his, or if its not too far, he could take it to them, would save a bit of money. My guess is it'll be around £40.
