On way home from work last night, my car was really struggling with the driveshaft problem. Sounded like it was going to snap. So i popped into the Vauxhall garage en route and booked car in to get diagnosed this afternoon.

On way to work this morning, i was crawling just to make sure i didn't crash and die. Driving down country road and steering goes a little bit light and starts pulling each way slightly, car is pulling back and gradually slowing down.. Starts juddering and really struggling for power and then really bad vibrations. Whilst all of this is happening i'm assuming that my driveshaft has snapped (or whatever they do)...

Pulled in and got out of car, walked around the front and looked at the wheels, flat tyre. Great. Driveshaft has snapped, tyre has popped, i'm stuffed. Ring the AA!

AA asked where i was, i had no idea. I gave them the namesof the roads and places around me, but didn't know the name of the road i was on. They refused to send anyone out unless i could tell the the road i was on. "How the **** am i supposed to do that then? You're the ****ing **** sat infront of a computer, you work it out!" and then my phone credit ran out.

Needless to say i didn't expect them to call me back. So now i have a ****ed driveshaft, popped tyre, a phone with no credit and i'm stuck in an unknown location. Wooo...

Luckily (or so i thought!) a traffic cop decided to drive past as i was standing looking at my car in dispair. He drives past. ****.

Fortunately, the riot van following him wasn't such a **** and did stop for me. Rang the AA for me and told them where i was, then left me to wait...

AA man came and fitted my spare tyre and told me that it was just coincidence about the driveshaft. My tyre has a 18 inch long tear in it. Whoops. Will get pics later...

Took my car straight to the Vauxhall garage and left it. Asked if i could borrow a courtesy car for the afternoon to which i was laughed at. Although credit to Vauxhall they did drive me 15 miles to get me to work.

Soon as i arrived at work, my phone rings. Vauxhall.

Unfortunately we are unable to road test your car because your rear tyres are below the legal limit. I don't want it road tested, i want the driveshaft and surrounding components inspected. Well our engineer has inspected the driveshaft but it all appears to be in working order. And i suppose the grinding/crunching noise is a feature and not a fault is it? What grinding noise, we can't hear any grinding noise... Look, just leave it, i'll come and collect it later.

It was only doing it a little bit last week, but after the garage had looked at it on Saturday when they replaced my brakes, it's grinding permanently. I think they must've slightly dislodged one of the broken parts and now it's doing it permanently (except when Vauxhall trained mechanics are driving it).
