Have recieved a ROUGH quote from my local 'backstreet' garage, although they are nice guys and done alot work for my family before which has always been of high standard. They came out and had a look at my car the other day. I was told they could repair the damage for about £1000, but thats a rough price, as they would need to have a proper look underneath to see the damage.

I have two choices, I sell the car as it is and get about £800 at a guess?? Otherwise I can get the car to the garage to be fixed, pay £1000 which may be even more and then sell the car for about £2000? I would probably get more that way, but risk paying more and for a job which may leave the car looking shoddy if the panels are different colours that is.

So what do you think I should do?

I say 800 as there is only 1000 worth of damage inc labour, about 400 in parts

If you're going to sell I would do it before the repair rather than trying to fix up and make your money back.

Either way you get about 800 quid back, but the repair route you might end up with a car you can't sell because the work is bad, or a huge bill because the work is good.

Move on less messing.

I have been told, its the wing, bonnet, a tyre, driveshaft, lower suspension arm, and one more thing that will need replacing. My plan was to use to replace the wheel with the spare.
