ok ok i know these threads are put up all the time and i have done a search for them and still cant make my mind up!
The problem is my car is too slow!, ive got a x16xe sport and it just isnt cutting it at the moment! so basically i want to make it quicker. Should i tune the 1600 up, or put the usual 2ltr in??
there is a guy on MIG who sells turbo kits and they arent that expensive, so was thinking that for the 1600 as its less common than the 2ltr transplant, but it mite be more hassle in the long run!
I dont have an endless pot of cash unfortunately so putting tb's on the 1600 isnt possible
what do you lot think??
cheers jon

if you cant afford to put tb's on it then a turbo is out of the question. What about fitting an aftermarket inlet?

the turbo kit is only 625quid as it doesnt come with an intercooler or piping for it ( just comes with basics, turbo, manifold, blah blah, so id have 2 pik up an intercooler off ebay or something which wouldnt be too much. I already have the dbilas inlet manifold on it, de-catted, magnex SS cat bak system on!

Then you would have to get management and uprated internals for the turbo.

it can run on standard management on low boost, 8-10psi, with one of his special AFPR, and also can run with standard internals, just need to lower the compression by getting a thicker headgasket. But this is also alot of work to do as is fitting a 2ltr!
