why ??? what do you hope to gain from it
the only reason i can ever thinking of doing it is when using aftermarket stand-alone managment to monitor and alter and engine map etc

iirc you cant ran diagnostics on then standard ecu or DTA/Omex etc
what you really need is a VW, then you can buy VAG.COM and play with that

it easy as matt has a omex ecu, there designed to me connected
thing is though, you've got to be a pro at mapping stuff like this really, as its the diffrence between your car detonating, and driving normaly

Omex is a very simple program to use. very difficult to fook anything up actually as all of the parameters are locked until you unlk them and send the revised data to the ecu
then when you know what you are doing, you can play around with the actual map. basicly its :
coolant temp / air temp / crank position / throttle position / injector parameters.
If you just want something nice to look at on the screen, you can collect all these parameters together and watch the figures go up and down while you drive along.

Also I'm sure this must be the same for all the aftermarket ECU's, the map can be saved. So go out there play about with it fcuk it up and then just go back to the original map
