answer me an honest question, because i went on confused.com and got a quote for my 1.2 with minimal mods. and i got one result at £2553 a year. way too much

so how many people on here actually declare there mods to the corsas. im talking subtle mods. bodykits i would of thought would have been declared but im thinking if you guys say you get low premiums your either older or lucky lol.

cheers

JH

I've declared all my mods. Insurance isn't valid if your mods aren't declared

I declared mine! Why insure a car if you dont declare , The insurance is then Void so you'd be paying £2000+ for void insurance!

What mods were they?

1st year I got my 2.0 Corsa I told them it was a 2.0 16V engine with an "air filtration mod", 2nd year I decided to be honest & tell them that it had TB's fitted

the car is no longer a 5-seater, as it is now only 2 seater, and this has been declared on the V5 so I had to inform the insurance company about it...

I didn't have a modded car till I turned 19. No one would insure me for a decent price if it was modified. Then I tried HIC who let me modify it and were still cheaper than all the other insurance companies that would only insure me as a standard car!

My insurance was £1600 1st year on a 1.2 8v no mods (17 years old), £999 2nd year again 1.2 8v no mods, £650 3rd year on 1.2 16v all mods declared, £550 4th year 1.2 16v all mods declared and now £350 5th year 1.2 16v all mods declared with an SP30 too.

All fully comp in my own name

That is very cheap!

I payed £1100 @ 19 for a 2.0 Corsa on the driveway, Cat 1 alarm. That was with Flux

Had other mods too, plus my conversion was done by a company who they recognised so it went down a little more.

I'd double check those prices if I were you before doing the conversion!

wise to declare but tbh the insurance will only ever find out if the accident is your fault and its serious for an inspector to come and view the car.

Most of the time for small prangs the insurance dont view the car, if your confident in your driving abilities are are pretty sure your not gonna sumthing daft like rear end sumone then you'l probably be ok.
