Right here we go

I have changed my icv but the car still tries to stall.

This happens when say you are driving along and come upto a junction to stop. The revs will drop down to 200rpm and then bounce up and idle normally. I have also noticed that the exhaust is popping and banging more than usual. Corsa_Godfather even noticed that recently and both coolant temperature sensors have been changed.

Could this actually be a tps problem but there is no em light .

Cheers Jonny

Why do people blindly change sensors on thier car from advice given on this site. It could be a million things. Get it tested by Vauxhall and they will tell you exactly whats wrong and exactly what needs to be replaced. £40 well spent as they paperclip test is about as usefull as a chocolate teapot.

If the car has/had a broken ICV then the car wouldn't idle at all either. It wouldn't even start up without you putting your foot on the gas.

Oh and for the record. My car did the same and it was a faulty crankshaft position sensor. Though I was clever. When the fault appeared, I took the car to Vauxhall. Paid them £40 to test it. Then it would have cost me about £50 for a new sensor, but I just got them to fix it all for me.

There is also a lot more to an ECU test than the mechanic poking his nose around the bonnet. It's your bonfire of cash though.
