learn on a 400 thats the best way so you dont get into serious trouble (rvf's are way forward ) v's are a joy in there own way so much torque and engine breaking as had inline 4 and now v4 and wouldnt go back

id say 400 to start with,
I dont have a liscense but have ridden a gsxr 600, and before anyone slates me it was on the drive to the farm i work - which is about 1 mile of private tarmac.

Thankfully i knes what to do as used to bikes from my motox racing days, but the gsxr was in a different league, front wheel up right away!
Im 21 in may and aim to do my direct acess but im looking a yz426 supermoto, so i can use it off road for enduro as well

I've got a CBR600F-X, to be honest, anything you ride after a a direct access is going to seem awesome.

I did my direct access and went straight onto the CBR, it only goes as fast as you open the throttle. I've never been a fan of 400's, they look too small parked next to a 600.

nc-30's all the way baby! screams like a four, grunts like a twin and so deceptive!! you don't realise how fast it can go till you look at the speedo!

my mate has had 2 VFR400s, an NC-24 and an NC-30 LE, both awesome bikes, the NC24 was yellow, and he rebuilt it, and the NC30 was grey and looked awesome, the sound is truly amazing

he also had 2 yamaha RD125LC's, both noce quick bikes

then he had a kawasaki KR250TT, which was brutal, went like the VFR, amazing bit of kit

hes now got a GSXR600 K1, which is big and heavy compare to the VFR

kxf - lovely bike
whats trick on the yz125
i raced mine back in 2000 when it was a year old, was a lovely bike, tag bars, ohlins shocks, pretty much a carl nun replica at the time.
Rode a ktm 520sx in the summer and loved it, but too much power and the skill level is above my head.
Been looking at getting YZF250, but then 125 i could more than handle and same with 250, so 426 is a reasonable choice
