You need to be 18 in order to pay monthly, I suggest for the first year you go as a named driver in your parents insurance but go with direct line in order to still get no claims

a bit off topic but how do people afford to pay out 1500 a year on insurance alone never mind any mods?

i was in the same boat truman..
im 18 and bought my own 1997 corsa 1.2 8v 3 months ago now,
ive got my own fully-comp insurance policy, with my mum and dad on my name- £1080
churchill car insurance.
your best bet is to use online quotes and find the most realistic company- then ring them up to haggle a deal.
hope this helps

but paying by direct debit is credit and u need to be 18 to do that. its just like a loan the insurance and u pay it to the company monthly to pay it all back. and if u claim and then cabcel your insurance before the year is up u still owe them the rest of the years payments. but if u dont claim and then cancel then your ok
