I have noticed that now i drive down unlit streches of road of my way home from work that standard cora headlight are pritty pooh
So i was thinking of upgrading the bulbs to give a bit more light the ones i was looking at were these

Anyone got any experiance of using these or others? is there a noticable differnce?
I also wanted to give them a blueish tint and was thinking of replacing the sidelight bulbs aswell to achive this with some of these

they are the bule sidelight bulbs further down the page
Will the legal ones make a noticable difference as i dont really want iligal ones

I have some of the more powerfull bulbs from Halfords, they are a bit more crisp, but not that much better...
The ultimate upgrade is to buy a HID kit. It's about £300 though for a kit.

u r all forgettin the better option. relay existing setup to take 100/80 headlight bulbs. better bulbs, but u cant use em with standard wiring cuz it melts, hence why they have to be powered by relays.
iv done it, brightest most crisp lights on a corsa b.

What about the light units themselves wont they have to be upgraded as well to make do with the extra heat? and as ian said surely this isnt techniqually leagal due to it dazzaling other road users etc
Matt G that kit looks amazing but i cant justify spending that much as its about £150 aint it

i think im going to go for some of the philips bulbs that are suposed to give 30% more light and get some coloured sidelights to go with them.

be legal to use or not. as in will it give a nice blue tint or will it actually be blatently blue?

gavin18787 u miust remember that when u upgrade bulbs that will have higher amp rating you risk damaging the stock wiring and headlight switch pack itself.

relays, u need 5 pin lucas relays, can get these from halfords, as for auto-electrician, look in yellow pages.

I also see what you mean about upgrading bulbs but they did say that they draw nno extra current and produce no more heat so they should in theory be ok

i got a new set of main bulbs last week from halfrauds, the ones that are ment to be 50% brighter then normal and they seem to be miles better and there BOGOF.

ive got the gols halfords bulbs in and they do seem a bit better than standard. best way to see more is to lift the aim up a bit, works wonders.

i've had 100/70w bulbs (i think)
in both my corsas and never had a problem with the wiring.
