Anyone got any? I was thinking of putting a few quid on some. Sounds a bit like the rich mans lottery with the guarentee that you will get your capital back.

I think the capital grows based on the RPI. Well technically not the RPI as that is based on house prices but I cant remember the other index that they use.

Is it easy enough to withdraw the money? It said you just have to write in. I cant see me needing the money for a while but you never know.

I put all my money that i save for my tax bill into Premium bonds, as it was not worth putting it in a high interst account as the money was taken out each year.
Growth is not that great but you do not lose anything and you are entered into a sort of raffle with each bond so techincally can earn alot from them if you are lucky.

i have £30k which is the maximum ammount invested in premium bonds. Get a few cheques each month which is nice
It gets more return than many high intrest accounts and there is always the chance of a big money win

Is there not a minimum u have to get?

£100 is the minimum but considering there is £7 billion invested, the odds of your number getting picked is pretty slim odds.

No, you don't earn interest at all. However, with interest rates as they are (very low) it's worth the risk.
As for "How much is best to put in?".... Well, if you're gonna do them, as much as you can afford. You can even set up a direct debit monthly payment to increase them. Before you know it you'll have a few grand in there. Good fun every month waiting for the £50 cheques!
