Bought an amp for #75 down from 150, 3 days later I decided it wasnt that good so took it back to be told i cant get a refund!

Is this letter a little harsh:

RE: Product Refund

Dear Sir / Madam,
I am writing on behalf of a longterm client whom I have been advising on a refund procedure, involving your stores.
It appears as though Motorworld employ, what I perceive to be, a very odd and indeed perversed refund system, if you’d call it that at all. As quoted from your website, your currently monetary refund policy states, that a full refund will be warranted if:
· Items are returned in original packaging
· Items are returned in re-saleable condition
· Items cannot be accepted for return which have been specially ordered for you or manufactured to your specification
The item matched all of the criterion above, and yet my client was, what I’d best describe as, ‘fobbed off’ and made to feel intimidated by what is effectively a huge corporation which has little to no respect for its customers nor their rights.
The item was a vehicle audio aftermarket amplifier, of the manufacturer JBL inc. and of the specification GTO2000. It was purchased in the sale, at a total sum of £74.99. It is not far off disgraceful how a company of your calibre would refuse a customer a refund, the device was initially suspected to be broken as the client believed it to be not performing as the specification suggested, and it was marketed so.
Quoting from consumer rights laws, we can clearly see that the 1979 Consumer Rights Act states that goods must be warranted a refund if:

· They are not of satisfactory quality
· They are not as described
· They are not fit for purpose
My client believes that the goods did not meet any of the above criterion, particularly the first two. “Satisfactory Quality” is not quantifiable, and is a matter of opinion. In this case, my client clearly felt that the item in question did not meet the first two criterion.
Subsequently, I strongly urge you to review your policies, and in the mean time my client and I will be reviewing a case for the Small Claims Court. Please standby for further action while we review evidence.
Many Thanks,

considering its all fake and no solicitors are involved

You can't just buy something, use it for a bit and ake it back because you don't like it. It's your own fault...

it didnt matter than it was in the sale,

youve gotta remember that Asda, Tesco etc give refunds 30 days after sale, and Argos do a 16 day money back guarantee.

Even halfords gave me a refund after 2 weeks with no proper box or receipt

John, if you have a problem with me, the best thing you can do is stay as far away as possible

It worked though.
There have been many discussions about this on here.
Seems to be that if they take it back they are doing you a favour, if not tough luck.
You should know that being an 18 year old defence lawyer though.

I am 22, and indeed they are not obliged to give any monetary refund IF its not faulty

My argument was the amp was not as powerful as stated

Why does your profile say you are 18?
Have you verified the amp is not giving out the correct ratings?
I doubt it.
What are you basing it is not as powerfull as stated on?

Yea, and if Motorworld don't feel like it then they don't have to. There is no law saying they are meant to give people refunds as soon as you change your mind.

Have you had it bench tested to prove this?

Basically, there is no evidential matierial to suggest the amp is not 400w.

However, then a cheap Sony 4x50 headunit outpowers it on sound AND quality, you generally know somethings wrong.

Maybe you just can't connect the system up correctly.
Basically your letter is rubbish and none of us would accept it.
Would probably go straight in the bin.

Calling you dull is a gross underestimation of just how tedious you are. You have the personality of a damp sponge and the appeal of a moldy sweat sock. Do yourself and everyone else a favor: take a fatal overdose of your medication.

If I read that letter in my job then I would throw it in the bin and ignore it. It looks like some kid has got the dictionary out and found all the big words in it, used them but didn't read the meanings. It's utter crap.

Just when I think I've read the stupidest post ever, you go and post another. Just as the strength of a solitary brick will not save a poorly built structure, your bold typeface does not redeem your craven incoherent words.

Thanks for your contribution, but if I had wanted to hear from somebody with your IQ, I'd be at my local supermarket talking to the vegetables. You wouldn't know Up from Down if you had three guesses. Anyway, who was talking to you or even taking you under consideration? To quote Martin Luther King, Jr.: "Nothing in the world is more dangerous than a sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity."

What possessed you to think that you were capable of being entertaining or interesting to read? You are nastier than a five-dollar whore getting a shit enema. You're a waste of time, space, air, flesh, and the rectum you were born from, retard. Maybe you wouldn't be such a Jerk-In-The-Box if you didn't eat all those paint chips and lead pencils when you were a kid; if your weren't so fat that all the restaurants in town have signs that say: "Maximum Occupancy: 80 Patrons OR You.", or if you didn't have a face that makes Medusa look like a supermodel. No, come to think of it, you would.

In future, wake up the dozy peglegged hamster operating that wheel-powered brain of yours before you start typing.

Halfords wouldnt actually do that and if the person that served you did then they have gone against the shop policy.
Items returned to halfords need to have a receipt for a full refund and if it were an amp or headunit etc that would be in a box then it needs to be returned in that box to get said refund
