I got a Corsa 1.6 sport not too long ago, S reg, and it has a hazard switch with a red LED in it.
Now, I've looked in the handbook and it says when the drivers door is locked and the key is removed horizontally, the LED will come on, either flashing or steady, depending on whether it is set or there is a problem with it. However, when I do this, nothing happens. I know the LED works, because when I hold the button by the ultrasonic sensor, it flashes as it should.
Anybody know what is wrong?

disconnect the battery for an hour or 2 & it should sort it

keeps happening on my GSi, just trips out & can only get it working again by resetting the ECU

if the battery doesnt sort it, then will be an issue with the deadlocks (there is a microswitch on the lock when you activate deadlocks) could either be broke or fubar'd!

well according to the manual, it should lock when it turns 45degrees, and dead locks at 90degrees, but I have to turn my key the 90 to get it to lock.

so when you lock the car, you hear no central locking triggering & such??

sounds like a fcuked lock or something else which is wrong in there

whip the door card off & have a look!

well it central locks, but the key can get stuck in the lock sometimes, now and again won't return to its normal upright position and let me take the key out, just have to take it out horizontally.

has someone had a go at the lock??

deadlock the car, then try and unlock the passenger door, this is easiest way to test

if the deadlocks do work, you shouldnt be able to unlock the passenger side, if you can, then thats your problem!

deadlocks are what activate the alarm

so if i deadlock it from the outside, then i wont be able to unlock the passenger door from the outside? because if that is the case, it is not deadlocking, because I can!

yes... if you deadlock the car from the drivers side, you should not be able to unlock the car at all from any other door, both inside or outside, and the drivers door is the only one which will unlock the whole car at that point

right then could well be the switch which is goosed, so would be worth having a look, just remove the doorcard & peel back the weather skin & see if its there...

try pressing the switch manually & seeing if the alarm activates or if you hear any solenoid clicks, hopefully if it does that, then just needs adjusting, otherwise, replace it

cant see it costing too much tbh, as there a standard type microswitch - cost about 20p each in maplin!

If I was at home, I'd get a proper pic from in my GSi, but as I'm not, i can't

thats great mate, I am moving to uni tomorrow for 3 weeks before I'm home again, and don't really want to take the car apart in the car park, but when I get home next I have to dynamat the drivers door anyway, so I will do it all together!
