Where the car came round the bend, skidded on Ice and took out all those cyclists?

Looked terrible. Car was only going slowly too!

we had an accident in bridlignton, where the driver was going about 80 in a 30 mile speed limit, crashed into someone on a bike at about 10.40pm. As she was going so fast, the person on the bike actaully dragged along on the bonnet before landing on the ground. The driver then drove of. The 44yr old women and 17 yr old was arrested but still looking for a man.

Now that is a tragic accident.

Feel bad for the driver if he/she was'nt speeding as he/she now have to live with the fact they took 4 lives in a freak accident.

Terrible, could have happened to any of us.

Especially in Ice. What can you do?

Always makes it worse when a Child is involved too.

scarey really, as the bloke actually rolled down the road a few feet, because at first they thought that the car dragged him aginst the tree

Our best estimate at the moment is that the car is driving at something like 50 miles per hour. And on a road like this, that isn't excessive speed.
Further proof that it is inappropriate use of speed which kills, and staying within a speed limit does not actually mean you are driving safely.

30 past schools at 3.30 is dangerous.

50 in icy conditions in dangerous.

Neither is illegal.

Exactly Ian, I agree 100%, I was driving along a country road on new years day to a Vauxhall garage, now from my days riding motorcycles I know just how little grip there is on the road this time of year, this was a national speed limit single carriageway road and I was taking it steady at 40mph, people behind me where right up my backside, and lorrys coming the other way were flying around the roads.

People need to ride motorbikes to realise just how little grip you have on the road.

Your right, there are so many people that dont adjust their driving to suit the conditions. My Mum and my brother for example don't seem to go any slower when its icy so if I'm in the car with them I tell them to slow down.

I've been a back seat passenger in a car crash in the snow and ice and it does not take alot to come unstuck. It was my mates Dad driving and I could tell he was going to fast for the conditions but before I had chance to say anything we had crashed into a wall and blood was pouring from my head
