Found this on another forum, its only in Oz atm but with the UK car market being as it is shouldn't be long before it hits our shores, apparently its even better for our environment.....

Shell Optimax Extreme is a new flagship 100 octane fuel successfully formulated with 5% ethanol. This creates a new "super premium" petrol category for the Australian market place.

Ethanol is a renewable non-fossil fuel. It is a cleaner burning component that
helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Through the formulation with ethanol, Shell Optimax Extreme has a substantially lower sulphur and benzene content than other Shell premium fuels. It is formulated to deliver more engine
responsiveness, sharper acceleration and enhanced power in many modern and high performance vehicles. It also has the same engine cleaning qualities as Shell Optimax.

The new fuel has been positively tested in Shell's global laboratory in the UK
and in Australia by industry experts including the motorsport icon, Dick Johnson. Major car manufacturers in Australia have recently endorsed the use of up to 10% ethanol blended fuel in their new vehicles.

Chairman of Shell Companies in Australia, Tim Warren, says, "Shell is committed to ensuring its fuel technology keeps pace with the engine technology being developed by car manufacturers round the world. Shell Optimax Extreme will take fuel technology within the Australian marketplace to a whole new level. It is our first fuel in Australia scientifically formulated with ethanol."

Shell Optimax Extreme complements Shell's comprehensive suite of motor fuels, which includes regular Shell unleaded petrol and Shell Optimax. Any car that can use ethanol-blended fuel can use Shell Optimax Extreme.

The new fuel will be manufactured at Shell's Geelong refinery and is the first
significant advance in unleaded fuel technology since the introduction of Shell
Optimax in 1999.

I'm sure they will be fine Teddy. If this fuel caused severe damage to knacker the pistons do you think they'd be selling it to the public where every man, woman and child can shove it into their off road/MPV/chav mobile?

99ron fuel at Tesco, not 100ron Only select outlets too. IE none round here which is a right PITA.

Glad we're getting 100RON, my 300ZXTT is mapped for it. Should go a little better.
