Been told by a lad at work that his cousin owns a Vaux Astra and it has the most powerfull naturally aspirated engine in Britain in it. Now i dont for one second beleive this so does anyone know of any astra's in Scotland (as car going to be in F&M as its Scottish) that are maybe even likely to come close. Alternativly does anyone else know what the more powerfull n/a tuned car in the uk is?
Cheers

I personally know of 270bhp from an XE without NOS, and you can get 299bhp from 8 injectors, different management, bit more head work etc...
Just look at the SBD website.

The old Cavalier touring cars used to run 290bhp from an xe without nitros.
Swindon race engines used to prep those.

Depends how you measure the power.
Absolute output, he'll certainly be outclassed by big capacity 8/10/12 cylinder engines in many different vehicles.
Specific output, ie. bhp per litre is more likely for a 2 litre Astra to be in the running for, although proper motorsport stuff will certainly beat it.
Unless he rebuilds the engine every few thousand miles, its probably not.

He gets that every day anyway. Just one of these things where he has said "Its the most powerful n/a tuned car in Britian". Obviously i think he is talking crap.
