My bro is looking to sell his CTR and get an EVO 7.
Are the imports any faster than the UK spec ones? If so, where the best places to get an import from?
Hes looking to spend about £16k.
Tried convincing him to get a Supra, but he wants an EVO first

He wants an Evo mate deffo
I would say that though
I preffered the 6 over the 7... 16k would get you a very nice TME though... Much better IMO!
There were 7s going for around 12-13k...
All Evo's are imports. Some are official through rallyart. But still imported.
Theres no difference in the spec. Not like Honda's and scoobs.
The first Evo dave posted was for sale when i was looking.
There quick cars,
They do 20mpg... I 1s did 26mpg but that was just lucky! However you drive...
They need servicing every 4500miles.
But you got to love them!

No problem. www.lancerevo.net... You only allowed 20 post per month on MLR> and there more helpful and down to earth on lancer evo i find.
I would stretch to an 8 if he wants the new shape.
The 7 will loose value more... People either like the Vi's or like the newer shape. The newer shape they go for an 8 or even a 9 now... The 7 seems to get stuck in the middle and don't seem to sell.
When he comes to sell he will get back his extra 2k.
Not so much with a newer car but he needs to do some reasearch. If he goes for an 8 theres 2 i would go for. The 320 and the 340. Obviously theres 20bhp difference. But don't set your heart on either.
Get a 340 or a 320 whichever comes at the right price.
Evo's are pretty heavy and eat brakes. Don't look for the least miles. 1 thats done 40k miles might look better than a 50k 1. But the car with 50k miles should have just had a £1000+ service. (mines due soon )
Also don't expect to find 1 on your doorstep. I did 250miles to get mine!

Transmission service???
Should i be gettin worried.
Do you mean AYC fluid change?
Its not strictly done every 4500miles...
Usually every 9000. And its about 100quid. From the dealers.

Evos aint cheap to service, gear boxes are a bit of a nightmare on these cars , even though there rally cars they dont last long
Mate works at Mitsi and he replaces them day in day out

I own a Vi...
the Yaw fluid is the same.
They have a ACD as well. That might bump the price u a little.
On a 4k service they do oil and filter. OIl is 30 odd filter is £15 from mitsi.
+ the AYC.
I do oil filter myself and get the AYC done. Comes in about £150. I only do the AYC every 9000 miles like most do.
