with cars as light as saxos ul find it makes a big difference if u drive on ur own or with a passenger, so it may not feel that fast if twiggy is wi ya, get him to give u the car for a bit

Get him to let you drive. I notice quite a difference between driving alone, and driving with a passenger.

Surely this would be the same with all cars though?

Power to weight ratio etc

Or maybe they lack torque & are affected more by extra weight?

Yeh I think it's lack of torque The key reason a 106 gti is nippy is due to its light weight, however once you start tuning them they are pretty quick.

Remove the light weight by filling it full of mates and its a dog Well to me anyway who drives it on my own, the people in the car still say its quick - but its no where near.

Mine still shifts with 5 people in

I do recall my saxo did seem slower with extra people in tho, definately an experience worth doing alone

Yes, if i did it again i'd have a black VTS, tints, lowered 50mm, nice 15's, straight through exhaust (de-cat), PiperX induction kit (cause it sounded ace on the VTR ) and that'd be it
