went to see the astra today and it looks nice in white. will be going back during the week hopefully to test drive it etc.
all in its a very nice car. just turned 55k on the clock, cambelt was changed at 40k and has full service history from the same garage.
there is no signs of accident damage and the car is HPI clear (apparently).
there are a few bad points
- small rust bubble on drivers rear arch (nothin that cant be sorted)
- small crack in front bumper
- small dint in tailgate
- dint in drivers door (not noticable unless you get it at the right angle)
- the usual car park dints in the doors
- touch up on the rear bumper
heres the pics: (in no particular order)

what do you people think?
its up for £2700. MOT till august '06, tax till end of january '06
cheers

Get a SXi.
I looked at a 1.8 sport, but they had a poor trim compared with the Sxi.
I'd look for a nice 1.6 SXi. Infact I did do, but decided I wanted something else

Even my 1.4 16V was a nice drive! If you get a Y reg or above it will have drive by wire throttle wich is SO much nicer to have.I didn't like my 1.8 as much.

You might get a decent old fleet car for 3K that will be fully serviced up? The chance of it being ragged to death is possible though
Have you tried www.astra-sport.co.uk

For that budget, what about another corsa
you had a GSi before IIRC, what about a newish 1.6 sport or something?
Or are you after a bigger car... thats not a corsa?

Didn't they have adverts for the Mk4 Astra with a 12 Year rust guarantee?

someones been messing around with it as the wheels are wrong for a sport should be on 15" alloys at that age. also the dark headlights were not fitted to astras at s reg (werent fitted till 51 reg) so putting that with the cracked bumper would say its been crashed.

Yeh I thought it was a bit strange its a Sport on steelies. Also, rust on a car of that age is very concerning. Id leave it well alone mate. Look for one that is in better condition, with alloys etc - and maybe not white!
