got the engine back in today after some troubles and some parts needing swapped over, just got to connect up the 2 lower trailing arm supports and the exhaust and we should be all go :

just came in to thaugh out my hands a little
dont think i will be taking it out tonight tho as it has been snowing a bit so il wait till the morning before the maiden voyage presuming everything goes ok, and it never does

slightly worried however as i have a x16xe loom ecu etc and the new block is actually a x16xel

just hoping all goes ok, get to drive it again after so long

arp rod bolts
lexmaul inlet
decat exhaust
short shift gear linkage

plan to get lexmaul exhaust manifold and get it chipped

well had it started there but it is idleing very high 2.5 - 3K revs. going to have a look at it in the mornign see if i can work out why

should be alright with that block, but, the head is different, smaller posrt although, the torque will be nice with the lexmaul on it

unless the head is ported of course

not sure which head is on it to be honest, headwork could be in the pipeline if it runs smoothly

if its the XEL head, itll run fine, but itll make less power due to the ports, but with headwork its all the same in the end anyway lol

yep just worried why it is ideling high now. will need to check in the morning. will need to get it on the rr to see what power and torque it does get

had a look at the car there checked the oil topped up the water some more. checked acelarator cable and slackened it a little, is ideling around 2K

think exhaust gasket is leaking, would this cause the high idling

tried reving it but it just settled a little then went back up. i am right in saying icv is a cunt to get to. water bottle out etc, next to egr valve

just thought, the icv is on the lower inlet. that was taken from old engine, it ran sweet as a nut for the whole of a mile and idled perfect, then a bit of metal decided to kill it

sorted put the wheels on and sat it on the ground to stop the drive shafts turning and idles perfect 8-900rpm
sounds a little tappy but it is a cold day and it hasnt been going in a while.
leaving it running for 5 min to heat up and check em light doesnt rear its ugly head
success at last
