No contest IMO after owning both!

A3 all the way but make sure it's a 1.8T.Smooth as silk to drive!

Oh and go for the 1.8 SRI if you pick the astra because there very little difference in speed between the 2L because of the different gearbox's but i think the 2L is higher insurance.Oh and make sure it's got ABS and a drive by wire throttle..Y reg onwards(think)
