My sisters ex is in the Navy, but hes a Helicopter Engineer, he's out in Basra at the moment. Writes to her sometimes. They work hard, their day off they spend sleeping to catch up.

tbh alot of the work they do is the same as the other services (pilots, engineers etc) and its pretty cool workin in a mobile self contained base... however im sure once youve spent a week with the navy youll start to realise why the rumours are there... the uniforms, attitudes and even the people that join the navy are completly different to the other services...

nah fraid not.. im looking to go RAF at the end of this year and have experience of both RAF and Naval life... including spendin a week at HMS Raleigh an tbh some of the stuff is purely shocking..just small things really the attitudes are the same... but the uniforms, dodgy beards and weird ranks and names for things is crazy

my sister qualified for the RAF, got her date to join and developed a chest infection so they wouldn't take her. she was going into air traffic control.

i don't see what you mean about those navy boys, i wouldn't say no!
