ive always wondered about this, not a huge problem- just fucks me off a little thats all

whenever i move off or accelerate from a steady speed at low revs, i'll put my foot down reasonably shapish.. then the engine seems to loose power, but then pick itself up again at about 3k

ive been reading up on here and noticed that similar problems are due to the air mass sensor, but i believe i dont have one.
i have a feeling its just due to single point injection on this particular engine,, as if its waiting for the fuel to enter the cylinders through the inlet manny.

Mine always did this, not sure about my new 1.2 8v, but i know my old one (had about 130k on the clock) I tried to see what the 0-60 time was, gave it some from standing still and it nearly stalled! hehe

i was going to say its probably just because its a 1.2 8v ^.^

Try revving it past 3k and then dropping the clutch..

Mine did the same, try unbolting the ICV from the front LHS of the throttle body, give it a blast with WD40 and push it gently back into its housing. Refit it and try again.

I seemed to cure mine by loosening off the dizzy clamp, and rotating the dizzy slightly to adjust the timing, though I wouldn't recommend it tbh, think I was just lucky...

good suggestions my friend

i have spent many a time in the throttle body, but have yet to treat the ICV.
best give it a squirt of carb cleaner when i have time, also being careful not to damge the rubber seals.

i did also notice my dizzy cap notches were out by 2mm or so, so i adjusted them a while ago. didn't do it for me tho

thanks again
