The old man has a 1.6 zafira (booo hiss) and the engine management light is on... its been diagnosed as the coil pack thingy, he also says that he knows of at least 3 more people with the same problem but vaux keep resetting the fault code and not changing the part. Anyone else heard of anything like this ?

yes, just happened to my mates astra, they replace coil tho

Yes this is a common fault on the 1.6 engines.
