my fuel gauge goes down without me even using the car, where should i look for a leak other than the petrol tank? or will it just be the tank?

Park car on a dry patch of ground
leave it there for a while
come back look for wet patch

or lie on floor and watch for drips

if you can safely raise the car off the ground eg jack up the rear end and put a couple of axle stands under the rear beam then get under an have a look

the bigger the leak the more obvious it will be

does your petrol dissapear when you have just filled the tank to the top or any certain level as the may be a hole at a certain point in yer tank

if you can put car in a garage or summat then at least you can narrow the leak down eg if the is spillage under rear end you can start looking round rear end for holes or loose pipe

petrol usually evaporates after about 10minutes so it wont be obvious unless it is that bad, that it leaves a puddle.

If your petrol tank is leaking a little bit you wont see any drips, it will all come out as gas.

If it was leaking you would smell it. If you can park it in a small garage overnight the smell will be more obvious.

Yes... You will be able to smell it, I could smell my leaky tank when I was outside, yet there were nno drips. Also in a week I lost about 5 litres of petrol while the car was parked up... Yet still no drips. I'm replacing the tank today though. Horrible job
