hiya will 205/45/17 make much difference? Used to have 205/40/17s? Getting them cheap need some tyres as old one where slashed when car was vandalised for time being,don’t think there is much difference?

they wont look as good as 40 profiles

there is a lot more than 5mm difference, the profile is a percentage of the width, so instead of the tyre wall being 82mm, as it was with the 205/40/17, the wall will now be 92.25mm, making the whole wheel and tyre 20.5mm, or 2.5cm larger in diameter than it was. Definitely more likely to scrub, and speedo will be out
