sanded down and sprayed there bumpers etc. them selves? im not a cheap skate.......but im just not in the money at the time being and am contemplating DIY'in it

I did it on my A level project, where i made a corsa bumper, and i took the top half of a standard one.
All i can say is a LOT of time, effort and wet and dry paper is needed. Use coarser stuff to get the main waxy texture away, then move on to the finer grades and you should be fine.

no, not at all, if you think you can do it, why not have a go. messing it up is half the fun really though isnt it?
ive seen it done lots of times. i painted my own engine bay and it turned out ok

Did my own smooth tailgate and sanded/smoothed my recess into my new bumper
Didnt spray it myself in the end, but got it done as a homer

Thanks lads.. well i finish college in a week so in my spare time i think i'll attempt sanding down my bumper, and if i think i can i will spray it. Maybe start on something small like the base plates of the mirrors just to see if i have the power
