No bolts holding the rocker cover on, no inlet manifold.

The belt was'nt old, was replaced at 36k and the engine was on 56k

personally I would have took the opotunity to change the belt and tensioners while it was out of the car. Unlucky mate.

seems a racoon has snook int othe engine bay and nibbled thry the cam belt, you should always check for racoons

Yes, racoons are a major problem in the state of Tilehurst, they hide in my anus from time to time and when its feeding time its very embarrising when they emerge from their dank hiding place.
