If you add a second car to your policy as a temporary car, does it matter who the car is registered to?

My Dad's just tried to insure my car on his policy for 3 weeks, the first woman he spoke to said that was fine, so he came off the phone to think about the cost, then rang up to actually do it, and the second person said he couldn't do it because it was registered to me. But this wasn't an issue when I tried to insure my Mum's car on my old policy.

You can insure others cars. I am on my gf's insurance for a while, while my car gets finished, easiest way to do it is to add it as a 2nd policy to your insurance. Its quite cheap temporarily too, although it does depend who you are with. Give your insurance company a ring and see what they can do anyway.

Nope you can do it, aslong as its with your own insuracne company, and you have your own policy with them on your own car. Not sure if you even need your own policy but I think you do. I have done it a few times and had no problems with it.
