Basicly i put a deposit down on a car last night and can pick it up as soon as the private plate has been transferred on to the guys new car(when he picks it up)was just wondering *how long this takes*?

mine is taking 10 days, as cant let my corsa go until my private plate is off as v5 and MOT are away at the mo, although u will only get a stamped green slip back. The whole v5 take 3-4 weeks

cheers guys, shizer hope it doesnt take 3-4 weeks, was hoping less than 2....
bought an astra coupe. Ditch, no certainly wont miss the fuel bills

It depends what you want when you buy the car, u will be able to take the green slip and MOT and the car will be back on its original plate. But you wont be able to fill in the v5 and send it back for 3-4 weeks (maybe longer with christmas).

ah right, not too bothered about getting v5 immediately as i trust the guy, obviosuly just need x reg plate on it.

Well i went to the DVLA on monday and have a predicted return date of 14/12/05 Thats when the original plate can go back on
