Took the Range Rover up to Aberdeen this weekend.

Bad Points:

1: It guzzeled £70 worth of unleaded in 250miles
2: The gearbox oil cooler sprung a leak.....

Noticed the car was pulling to the left under breaking.
Noticed the Auto wasnt chaging gear as smooth as it used to.
Noticed it was not really changing gear when it should.
Had a look round and found a fluid squirting out the front grill.
First thought was a rad leak d/t position .... but gave the fluid a sample and it was a reddy oil... transmission.
Whipped the grill off to find a pin prick hole in the oil cooler for the gearbox, right at the start of the heat expelling fins. (not a conventional cooler.... more a tube with fins wrapped round it to get rid of heat)
First repair attempt failed.... Lots of tape with jubilee clip...
Second repair was a bit more drastic... removed about 2cm of fins from the tube (surface mounted, not part of tube) to get better access to leak.
Got some epoxy for fixing plumping leaks, squiged that on, taped it, clipped it... left it for an hours..... jobs a good un

3: New transmission oil cooler is £199 ... may just rearrange things and pop a 3 row mocal cooler in or something...
4: Forgot how the heaters worked, so sat in the cold car driving for 2 hours.....

Good ponits...

1: Its SOOOO comfy
2: Worked out that the heaters werent fucked.... just me eyesight.... i had it blowing cold

after topping up the tranny fluid the gearbox came back to normal by the way
