As title says really, What is your job?, do you enjoy it?, how much do you earn? and how did you get there? just need to sort myself out wiht what career to head for as at the moment im on a national diploma in motor vehicle technology college course but dnt wnt to wait around for 5 years to be qualified only to end up being on a sh*t wage anyhow. anyone got a job they love or quite like, is quite easy to get into and is reasonably well paid?? cheers

Work in a Superstore Part time. I don't mind it TBH. It's easy, Can get there easily as it's only round the corner etc.

£5 an hour

worked in Tesco for 4 1/2 years now, £5.88 an hour, two mins down the road.
Started just filling shelfs when a was still at school then college for two years, stayed part time for little while and had another couple of jobs which lasted a few months each, but travelling was crap so started full time doing stock control. There wanting me to start management training now but im unsure cos i want to join the police

i currently work in tesco part time but am wanting full time contract in something with the possiblity of progressing onto section management training scheme but deep down ive always wanted to try and get into the police but inm only 18, nearly 19 atm..

im a spark(electrician) its a good laff depends who i work with, 220 a week (only in my second year and im only 19) i drive to work and my dad also takes me up wen i cant b arsed driving

tell your boss you want to get into Stock Control, cos the next step after that is your options. Even once uv started your options, apply to the police force and the options course will look good i.e. see you have leadership, initiative, responsibility qualtites that there looking for.

I know it seems like a waste of time working in a shop but Tesco is a good company to work for and there training is recognised.

I'll be 5 years in the business next Thursday. 4 years p/t through high school and college, 1 year f/t and now progressing through the management training.
It's ok, has more shite days than good at this time of year though.
On roughly 12k a year or something.

cheers for the advice dav and darren, think i will try this approach as atm i am working only 16 hours a week on the produce department and doing the odd bit of over time on dotcom department where i used to be untill a fulltime position becomes available. thanks..

I am responsible for most of the crappy chaved up motors in the NW. I like my job because of the hours, pay and people i work with, but the customers are all tossers.
